sunday

The time has come to say so long to the island. We don't want to say good bye because that seems so final and it's certainly not final. We will be back. Maybe someday.....we won't even be saying so long!

Kailey sits and waits patiently with our 5 ( yea 5 ) bags of luggage! On our defense...one bag is dive gear!
One last Lime n Coconut before we go!!!!

The ferry to Red Hook, St. Thomas is a definate sign we are going back to Canada.

Okay, hoping on a plane is the real sign!

Kailey and Cashew waiting for take off.

Still waiting

Rob waiting

This is the last plane and we will be in Toronto. Oh joy.

Iguana's, beaches and Shark????

Kailey spent the early morning luring the Iguana's from the trees with lettuce. At one point she had 4 of them together!

We spent the day at Trunk Bay...hmmm, why Trunk bay so many times? They have showers, food, shopping and pina colada's! That sums it all up! Anyway, Kailey and I were determined to build a castle before we left the beach, So this is what we bulit! Hey, It's a castle!!!!

That's my little beach bum!

See!!!! This is what life is all about! The sand, blue sea and spending precious moments with you daughter.

Easter Rock: Perched off the North Shore Road overlooking Caneel Bay, this egg shaped rock is said to roll down to the sea and back up again each Easter.

Kristin, Jackie, Kailey and Austin.
The girls were happy to pose with Kailey at Woody's seafood Saloon.

This was Kailey's second time to Woody's where she had shark to eat, Again!

Kailey and Rob peeled and cracked open coconuts that we found at the beach! Weird girl, she likes the coconut milk!

What a fun filled day we had! Apparently....we wore this guy out!!!!!

Ok, so here is an after thought, i don't think i have ever seen a lawn on St. John! Can this be? All my dreams come true! I would never have to mow the lawn OR shovel snow! This is paradise!

Takin' it easy

The day is coming near that we MUST and i don't want to return to Canada. Land of the snow, sleet, hail, rain and anything else that Mother nature can throw at us for the next 10 months! I certainly can see myself just staying on the island and enjoying the easy life. Not that life is easy anywhere, i guess i mean less complicated and less materialistic! I find the people here so friendly and helpful! When was the last time you walked down the street or were driving in your car and complete strangers say hello, or waves or tell you to have a good day? I don't think that happens in everyday America anymore! We are feeling so at home here and like such island people that we became tour guides for a couple honeymooning from Oklaholma! So we are sitting on the beach and this couple beside us, Sara and Wes, nice couple honeymooning in St. Thomas. They hopped the ferry over to St. John to see what the island was like. Well, we got to talking to them, and they had no transportation and had no idea what St. John is like. So we offered to take them around the island. WOW, have we learned allot! Between Rob and I, they have a very good picture of paradise! We took them from one end of the island to the other. And took them to Skinny legs to eat and drink, yea, they like the place, they like the feel, they like the locals, they like the island!!!
This is Sara and Wes at Trunk Bay! You should have seen the waves today! And the lack of beach sand! It was the wildest i have ever seen Trunk Bay.
Kailey right before the waves went crazy! And we were told by the park ranger not to drink the water in the ocean! hahaha Yea, like anyone drinks salt water on purpose!
Rob and Kailey right before the waves threw them under.

And me and Kailey before we got dunked under the waves. Those really were wicked waves!
Kailey decided the waves were too wild to go in alone so she decided to make a sand castle!
Wes and Sara with the BVI's behind them. This has got to be the best place to take a picture!!!

Shelley, Kailey and Rob

I sure doesn't seem like we did much today but we toured the whole island! Went shopping at Mongoose Junction ....came home and CRASHED! Being a tour guide is hard work!!!

The day after Omar

We were so happy to see morning break and Omar gone! He did not hit as hard as they had thought, thank goodness! It's such a pretty island, and we'd like to keep it that way!!!! We did see some trees down, uprooted and lots of water running onto the road from the mountains. Poor Cinnamon bay looks a mess and really rough and brown! ewe!!!

Great Cruz bay the morning after
We usually see the iguana's in the trees but today lots were on the ground! Kailey thought it was cool!
Kailey spent the morning and some of the afternoon playing football and water volleyball with Sierra and her family. They were great fun! Kailey had a blast with them!!!!

Kailey picking up some of the palm leaves that were ripped off during the storm. She did not realize just how heavy they are!

Kailey standing with the very large tree that was ripped out of the ground. Apparently this tree has survived 4 major hurricanes...but not this one!

The road had lots of water running on them. This is a waterfall from a runoff of the road!

A Visit to Cinnamon Bay to see what damage there is.....

.........................................................................................................

Hey, the donkey's survived!!!!

And that folks is the end of our day!

Omar starts his attack!

We woke up this morning to rain! Now that's different! ( I'm kidding), but it did stop for a bit. Enough for Kailey to go in the pool and Cruz Bay with Sierra! Yes, her and Sierra have found each other again! They had a blast playing together! But the bay started to get large swells and i made Kailey get out.
Blue Tang being all boarded up.

Great Cuz bay looking not so bright and cheery :(
